York Minster Ceiling

Ceiling at York Minster (Cathedral), York, England. March 2013.
This large and beautiful gothic cathedral has endured the Reformation, acid rain and fires. The ceiling was restored in the 1970s to bring out the light, warm colours. The gold bosses serve a practical purpose - they cover the joints in the stone ribbing that holds it all up.
