Description
The Mason Hoard, Newcastle
Please click "Download" to see the full sized image (1264 x 888 Pixels, 394 KB).
The Mason Hoard is a small group of 17 coins discovered in a pottery jar at Lindisfarne, North-east England. It was acquired by the Great North Museum (Hancock) in Newcastle in October 2014. It is now on display. The coins are of interest because they come from a range of European states including the Papacy at a time of political and religious unrest in England.
