Kidwelly (Cydweli) Castle Interior, South Wales, UK.

This relatively small but interesting castle is at Kidwelly on the River Gwendraeth in south Wales. Although a picturesque tourist attraction today it was originally a statement of power by the Norman invaders, who were extending their domination from England into Wales.

The castle does not attract as many visitors as some of its more famous cousins, so you can wander round in peace and take the photos you want. The stone walls are largely intact, though the woodwork and furnishings have gone. This inner castle is protected by an outer, D-shaped wall just visible on the left.
